Our Radio Drama Workshop for year 2 children will develop skills and knowledge in:
- Reading own writing to others.
- Forming own ideas for sentences.
- Planning before composing using sections to build structure of work.
- Planning before composing by writing down ideas and key words including new vocabulary.
- Sustaining writing, writing longer pieces of work with a clear beginning, middle and end.

Our Podcast Club for year 2 children will develop skills in:
- Using technology purposefully to store digital content (save work).
- Using technology purposefully to manipulate digital content.
- Sequencing sentences to form short non-narratives.
- Adding own ideas into an existing non-narrative structure.

Key Stage 2

Both our Radio Drama Workshop & Podcast Club supports & enhances the curriculum across English and Computing for years 3-6. Our Radio Drama Workshop for children in years 3 & 4 will develop skills in:
- Planning the structural features of a given text type using a planning scaffold.
- Creating own narrative with setting, characters and plot.
- Including direct speech in a narrative.
- Understanding there are different types of settings, characters & plots and to select appropriately for own narrative.

Our Podcast Club for children in years 3 & 4 will develop their skills in:
- Planning the structural features of a given text type.
- Beginning to organise own writing into paragraphs, grouping related materials effectively.
- Organising own paragraphs around a theme.

Our Radio Drama Workshop for children in years 5 & 6 will develop skills in:
- Planning writing by identifying the purpose of writing, selecting the appropriate form and using other similar writing as models for their own.
- Using consistent and correct tense throughout a piece of writing.
- Distinguishing between the language of speech and writing for particular purposes.
- Integrating dialogue within narrative to convey character.
- Creating atmosphere within a narrative.
- Planning writing by identifying the audience for the writing.
- Integrating dialogue within a narrative to convey character.
- Writing a completed narrative using correct structural, linguistic and grammatical features of a particular genre in a given time.

Our Podcast Club for children in years 5 & 6 will develop skills in:
- Using a variety of software to accomplish given goals.
- Designing and create content.
- Presenting information.
- Writing own non-narrative using correct structural, linguistic and grammatical features of a particular genre.
- Planning using note taking skills.
- Writing a completed non-narrative using correct structural, linguistic and grammatical features of a particular genre in a given time.
